STATE CHAMPIONS CLASS AA: Wellington CLASS A: Buhler CLASS B: Inman
The name of the school was changed to Hayden High school in honor of Fr. Francis Hayden who started the school in 1911. An attempt to improve the athletic programs was made with the hire of a football and basketball coach "Bow Wow" Wojtkiewicz. The priests of the school had filled in to cover the job during World War II. *The newspaper does not say what happened to "Bow Wow" - but he left in the middle of basketball season and Fr. Gardner took over. Players most likely had to coach themselves thru the season.
